DON'T MOVE A MUSSEL

 Aquatic invasive mussels can spread easily from one waterbody to another by hitching a ride on boats, trailers, and gear, and even a small amount of water can carry microscopic larvae. Once introduced, they are nearly impossible to remove and can cause serious damage to ecosystems, infrastructure, and recreation. That is why it is so important to always Clean, Drain, and Dry your equipment and never move mussels or water between lakes. Taking a few extra minutes to follow these steps helps protect our lakes now and for the future.
